Allman Brothers Band: The Allman Brothers Band is a band from Macon, Georgia labeled by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as "The principal architects of Southern rock". Originally formed in the late 1960s, in 1971 they were described by Rolling Stone's George Kimball as "the best damn rock and roll band this country has produced in the past five years." The band has been awarded with nine gold and 3 platinum albums and continues to record and tour to present day.
